Edgewater Gallery at Middlebury Falls
The historic power house with its gears and turbines was in the basement of the now defunct pottery kiln. The roar of the Middlebury falls and the best view was from the roof of this structure. Adjacent to these falling down buildings was the Edgewater Gallery with its elegant collections. What if the roof were to become an outdoor event space? What if the lower level was a more intimate gathering venue? These were the ideas brought to the design table by the Edgewater Gallery. The experience of the falls from the roof top, the sound, the smell of mist and the life of town as the Otter Creek relentlessly flows through it were all elements to be incorporated into the gallery experience.
