Beta Technologies is racing to be the first to develop commercial electronic (ie. battery powered) flight…and they are not located in Silicon Valley like many high-tech R&D firms, but right here in South Burlington, Vermont!
We recently had the opportunity to collaborate with them for the lighting design of their “Recharge Pad” which was recently featured in Wired.
Currently we are collaborating with Scot and Partners Architecture on Beta’s new headquarters, a 48,000 square foot renovated and new facility. ♻️🔋
Lighting design for new recharge pad at Burlington Airport
In collaboration with Beta Technologies and Charron Lighting, we have just finished the lighting design for a “recharge pad”. This is a landing platform for electronic aircraft that has the ability of recharging the aircraft in an incredibly short time (1 hour +/-) while offering lounge and sleeping accommodations for pilots. The lighting for this prototype design features Bega LED with the indirect lighting component located at the center of the landing pad to maintain dark sky criteria.
Will be posting pictures soon!
